Shpakoo – back be… Florida From…

Quite a few developments recently… hence: silence.
ANYHOW:

Dear Dairy *cross out “Dairy” * Diary…
So my parents invited over a visitor from Poland… A female, circa 24 (born the same exact day as me)…parental intentions: unclear, misty, convoluted… for period of 3 weeks…

the only good part is that my brother left for Spain vacating his room for a while, so at least she has not been put into my room…

Now, with about a month left to my GREs and two months before graduate school admission deadlines shpakoo was forced to DRIVE down to Florida, and then DRIVE UP to Niagara Falls…

Florida was ok… though 'tis already removed from my brain and into the ever growing “repressed” pile of memories from “hells”, “golden cages”, “over-care”, video-camera frenzies and other events, accompanying all other family getaways…

Niagara (the female and I, only) was ok… cloudless sky, warmth, sun, rainbows,
all the retired people strolling around there were smiling to us, and were offering to take pictures of both of me and my female-friend…
God only knows what they were thinking…
I wonder what would be their reaction if, instead, I was with a guy…lol

considering that I was after 2 hours of sleep after we returned home from Florida, 8 hours of driving up north (without falling asleep behind the wheel) and another 8-9 hours of walking around Niagara park and gift shopping, (hunting for the perfect postcards,) I quickly fell asleep the first night around 9 PM and otherwise don't remember much from that night in the hotel lol…

The next day focused on a continuation of trying to convince my friend to ride the freakin maid of the mist , which looked “dangerous” to her when she was looking at it from above the day before…on the second day the weather also turned slightly crappier… (just some random clouds) which also brought an aura of danger and unapproachability to the maid of the mist rides… I finally snapped and said that I didn't drive 8 hours to sit on the edge of the waterfall and complain how dangerous the boat looks, and that I'm going whether she likes it or not… then, reluctantly, she followed… and loved it…

we got back home around 2am last night after countless and prolonged stops at the various rest areas in search for more of the perfect postcards…and the perfect trucks to photograph oneself at…

I'm REALLY glad to be back home or, rather, at the lab =)

PS. she was sleeping in the car most of the time, so I was the driver, navigateur and entertainer for myself the whole time with the exception of a couple of random utterances and a beginning of a conversation (towards the end of our return) in which I was instructed that she likes to listen to stories somebody else tells her (implying that I also should entertain her…)

*growl*
